The children of the community are holding Ramadan in Greece

Despite the distance from the motherland, members of the Moroccan community residing in the Greek capital of Athens cling to rituals of fasting in a Ramadan atmosphere similar to that of the holy month of Ramadan in the Kingdom.

After many hours of work, the breakfast tables do not differ in terms of dishes specially prepared for this holy month in an atmosphere filled with feelings of warmth, affection, faith and sharing that permeate the month of Ramadan, especially the tradition of the holy month of Ramadan.

Members of the community remain closely connected to their grandparents’ habits and pay particular attention to the dishes served during breakfast, such as “hierra”, “swords” and “chabakia”.

During the holy month, family members gather around the table to enjoy these dishes during breakfast, a ritual that is repeated every day of Ramadan in an atmosphere of piety for this holy month.
